Yoga and Exercise

Yoga and exercise help to benefit health in all periods of life including pregnancy. There are many pregnancy specific movement classes that are adapted to help prepare women for labor and birth, and also ease symptoms of pregnancy. Yoga, especially, is known to decrease the length of labor, and may help prepare women by teaching powerful relaxation techniques and strengthening the muscles needed to labor most effectively. 

I offer private Prenatal Instruction, partner classes to give your partner tools to support you as well as taking care of themselves.  Each class is created specifically for your needs.  I can come to your home or we can schedule studio time at Yoga One in Santa Rosa, CA.  I also practice Reiki, which can be a lovely way to relax and rest during pregnancy and changing times.  

 

I trained with Ana Forrest in Forrest yoga for my 200 hour foundation training and with Jennifer More in the Dolphin Method for both 85 hours in Prenatal Vinyasa Yoga and 50 hours in Dolphin Doula.  My goal is to give women the tools to move through their pregnancy safely and gracefully while also preparing them for labor, birth, and motherhood.  No matter what choices you are making about your birth and your body, we will work together to help you deepen your listening to your own body, build endurance and strength, while also learning how to release and relax.

Yvette Racines is a certified 500 hr yoga instructor with special interest in Yoga Therapy.  Yvette works with The Stress Management Center of Marin teaching yoga therapy classes at Kaiser and the County of Marin's Wellness Program.  Yvette also has a strong love for teaching prenatal yoga. She is a certified prenatal yoga instructor, registered with Yoga Alliance.  Yvette's teaching is compassionate, inspiring and informative. She encourages her students to uncover their inner strength using the ancient practices of yoga.

Corinna Kirk believes that Yoga has the ability to calm the mind, strengthen the body and feed the soul.  She completed the 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Certification with Monica Anderson at Tone and is honored to share her love of Yoga.  She hopes to give her students a sense of peace, rejuvenation and joy in class as well as provide them with tools to bring the beauty of Yoga into their own daily lives.  Corinna has two fantastic children and savors time spent with family.
